AL MAMSHA LANDSCAPING + COMMON SPACES DESIGN

The primary objectives of the project were to improve the connectivity of pedestrians between highway drop-offs and the residential development; to enhance the walking environment; to increase the mobility of urban citizens; and to provide access to green spaces. Due to the considerable difference in level between the development and the main road access, the proposed frontside landscape needed to be friendly and welcoming with a gentle incline to the top level. Furthermore, the project serves as a park and an urban green area. The design is intended to increase positive interaction with nature among the residents while they are walking through the environment and climbing up the low-rise slabs and stairs.

Additionally, SOSA was tasked with providing an out-of-the-box design for the spaces in between Al Mamsha apartments. To contrast the straight design lines of the buildings, we came up with the idea of introducing a minimal design but with irregular shapes and forms.
